Movie Night...

For years every Friday/Saturday night would be our family movie nights with the oldest boys. We don't watch TV and this was something we all looked forward to begin our weekend. Then with the boys being teens and gone alot it was just Sean and I until Nolan and then I NEEDED sleep more than a movie fix. LOL! Since Zack and Ryan both have jobs they can afford to go to the theater to see the movies when they first come out. In fact, I believe they've gone to the movies more times this past year than they have their whole lives! LOL! I prefer watching a movie on my own couch, cuddled next to Sean, eating lots of our own popcorn. Sean and I did go to the movies for the first time in years to see the new Indiana Jones movie. It started out good but the ending was a letdown. I think we'll just stay home. LOL!

I love musicals but of course, the guys don't. However, I must give Sean credit here. My mom bought me Hello Dolly several months ago. It sat unopened on the top of th…

Can I Just Say...

I've got the BEST man in the world! Sean is amazing! Everyone who knows him in real life will attest to that fact. He came home tonight to his living room turned into a rainforest and he didn't even flinch. I guess he's used to my crazy antics by now. LOL!

The littles begin a study of the rainforest next week so we decided to kick things off with a jungle party tonight. We had finger foods with funny names like....slugs, turtle eggs, red eyed tree frogs eyeballs, etc. The kids loved it. When I asked Gabriella if she wanted some sneaky snakes (noodles) she said "I don't like sneaky snakes".

After our food we played games. Safari scavenger hunt, grab the monkey by the tail, and bowling for animals. Connor loved the grab the monkey by the tail game. He was the cheetah and we all had long brown socks tucked into our waistbands. He would count to 3 and come charging after us trying to grab our tails. Kyalynn thought this was funny and giggled and giggled. Gabriella…

Supermom?!

Umm, nope. Not me! However, I will admit I'd love to be Supermom...hero to her children, woman with unquenchable energy, never a doubt in my mind that I'm on the right path, amazing wife always bubbly and full of life. But my resume sounds more like this...tired, frazzled mom of 6 with the energy of a sloth, always questioning and doubting, and full of alot...mainly sarcasm.

I loved Courtney's post
http://www.storinguptreasuresinheaven.blogspot.com/2008/08/attention-come-take-ride-on-camp-crazy.html I have had the wonderful blessing of getting to know her better and she is amazing!! Anyways, her post made me think about our life and how far we've come in a few short years as well.

Just 4 short years ago we were a family of 4. Our two sons were just about to enter their teen years and Sean and I would be in our early 40's when we were empty-nesters. We had our life mapped out...we were already involved in ministry in our church but felt our first priority was to our bo…

It's Been Too Long...

I love this one! Zack was keeping an eye on Nolan while I gave Sean a haircut and fell asleep. Notice their arms are in the same position. LOL! Also notice my teen who falls asleep with his cellphone on his chest. Little man is doing well. He has chunked up nicely and is becoming quite a load to carry. LOL! He is such a good baby and really doesn't mind being plastered with lots of kisses from the littles. He will be 2 months old this Thursday! He has just started smiling when he hears my voice, which I love!! He has also begun cooing a little bit too. He is just SO precious and we are loving every minute with him. Thank You Lord!

School Daze....

So, it's that time of year for us again...the start of our new school year. We always start early August and that way the kids get finished in May. It's wonderful to hit all the tourist spots in May and not have to deal with crowds because most kids aren't out of school yet! LOL!

Our makeup this year goes like this....Senior, Freshman, Kindergarten, 2 Preschool and a baby! Whew! So far, so good.

Ryan is studying anatomy this year and so I try to incorporate the others along with it. That means the littles are studying the human body as well. We've read Magic School Bus "Inside Ralphie" several times, looked through an Usborne book about the body that shows all the different systems, and have read countless books on the senses. Connor is eating it up! He can even name some of the organs already and tell you what they do. We've found Connor loves to learn and does well with retaining facts. This is such a surprising blessing to me as I wasn't sure how t…
