My Boy....

Words can't express what this boy means to me! We are so proud to be his mom and dad. Not many 17 year olds would make a run to the Dollar Store and buy a whole bag of goodies for his little brother's birthday but Zack did. Connor was shooting his cap gun most of the afternoon. :)

He is an amazing big brother and Sean and I just love to watch him interact with the little ones. They all adore him and love to climb all over him. He's like a human jungle gym!LOL! When they hear his jeep come home (and trust me, you can HEAR his jeep, LOL!) they run to the stairs and yell "Zack's home".

When we first began discussing adoption, next to Sean, Zachary was the biggest proponent. He absolutely did NOT want any other kids in our family. He didn't like change and couldn't imagine loving this child/children. Amazing how God works.....Zachary was the one who actually pushed for Gabriella's adoption when we were scared of her health issues. And Nolan....when we d…

For Your Viewing Pleasure...

Kyalynn loves this picture and I couldn't agree more! Ryan just got his hair cut short. Isn't he handsome?! The haircut makes him look older and now you can actually see his blue eyes. LOL!

Oh my! What can I say? Absolutely precious...that sums up our Nolan Elijah!!

Yesterday Was....

Connor's 6th birthday!! He couldn't decide between Spiderman and Diego (his current favorites!) so we did Diego on the cake and had a homemade Spiderman pinata. We always make our own pinatas. We have done paper mache, boxes, but our favorite is to take a cheap Dollar Store gift bag and reinforce it with duct tape on the inside. Fill with candy and goodies, hang and break. Kyalynn had the winning "break" last night. LOL! Connor has been counting down to his special day for a whole month! Every time the phone rang yesterday he thought it was someone calling to wish him a happy birthday, and actually, in all cases but 2, it was! :) Happy Birthday Connor! Life with you is never dull! LOL! We love you tttttthhhhhiiiiisssss much!

Tower of Blessings...

How cool are these bowls?! Our precious friends, Rick and Barb, blessed us with a "movie night" basket for Christmas. It was filled with popcorn, cookies, movies, and these terrific bowls with our names on it and stickers. The kids LOVE their bowls and use them every day!

Guys, we love you and thank you again for blessing us.

This is for you, Karen...

Aren't they great?! Karen, Queen of the Crafters, sent home this craft for our little ones to do. They loved it!! Even Kyalynn, who hates coloring, playdough, etc. sat down and glued all her pieces on all by herself! Thanks Karen!! You're the BEST!

He Provides...

Like so many others across the nation, Sean is laid off. Has been for almost a month. Working in the construction industry tends to be a feast or famine type of job. We've had ups and downs but thankfully, it's been years since he was last laid off. At that time, we were only a family of 5 now we are 8. I won't lie, it's been a struggle to not worry but God has provided and sustained us. It's the little things He does that really blesses me.

Doughnuts are a favorite of ours and are a rare treat. Well, in the last few weeks we've been blessed with not 1 but 4 dozen of doughnuts!! YUMMY!

Two sweet teenagers from the skatepark blessed us with a huge box of toys for the little ones! That makes Christmas easy!

At the family Christmas party, Nolan received 2 teething rings and 2 baby spoons among other gifts. We had started a grocery list and were going to buy teething rings but God provided!

Precious friends of ours have blessed us with the Jesse Tree devotional, orname…

So Much To Say, So Little Time....

Oh my! Where does my time go?! Blogging helps me to remember all the little things my mind quickly forgets so with that here are some of the recent highlights in our home.

Each evening we are doing a devotional book about the Jesse Tree for Advent. The one devotional was about Adam and Eve and sin. We talked about what sin was and why we need Jesus in our hearts. Gabriella asked if she could have Jesus in her heart and then proceeded to pray. Not to be outdone, Kyalynn bowed her head, clasped her hands together and prayed the most heartfelt prayer asking Jesus into her heart and life. The amazing thing is that although Kyalynn's speech is choppy and hard to understand sometimes when she prayed it was perfect, every word was understandable!! I cried and cried. God is so awesome to allow me the privilege of being there when each of my 5 children have prayed this prayer!

Kyalynn has lost her first tooth! When we realized it was loose we began prepping her for when the tooth would be go…

A 12 Day Devotional for Kids...

Many years ago I wrote a devotional for our boys for Christmas. It's titled "A Journey ToChristmas." We've talked about getting it published for many years but we put our money to better use by adopting our 4 precious children instead. Every year when I unpack our Christmas decorations and find it I always sit down and read it to the kids. This year, I thought some one else may want to copy it and share it with their children to prepare for the miraculous event of Jesus' birth. So, if you are interested please click on over and enjoy! I'll have the link on my sidebar. I promise to have all the pages posted by Tuesday evening!!
Would so love to hear your feedback if you do use it with your children.
Thanks!!!
