He Provides...

Like so many others across the nation, Sean is laid off. Has been for almost a month. Working in the construction industry tends to be a feast or famine type of job. We've had ups and downs but thankfully, it's been years since he was last laid off. At that time, we were only a family of 5 now we are 8. I won't lie, it's been a struggle to not worry but God has provided and sustained us. It's the little things He does that really blesses me.

Doughnuts are a favorite of ours and are a rare treat. Well, in the last few weeks we've been blessed with not 1 but 4 dozen of doughnuts!! YUMMY!

Two sweet teenagers from the skatepark blessed us with a huge box of toys for the little ones! That makes Christmas easy!

At the family Christmas party, Nolan received 2 teething rings and 2 baby spoons among other gifts. We had started a grocery list and were going to buy teething rings but God provided!

Precious friends of ours have blessed us with the Jesse Tree devotional, ornaments and even the tree to put the ornaments on!

Sean was offered some work for this week which is a HUGE blessing!

Two teen sons who have stated time and again they don't want gifts for Christmas to buy for the little ones instead.

Sean's parents watching the little ones for us so Sean and I could have a hot date. It was so nice to have several hours together without interruptions. Oh wait, that's right Ryan called several times to talk and Zack called twice....ok, with minimal interruptions. LOL! We went out to eat and went shopping.

It's easy to get bogged down focusing on all that we don't have and all that we want or think we need. This trial has been perfect to help us to focus on all that we do have and how we are truly blessed beyond measure!!

It's good to make these lists of blessings. Remembering that God has cared for us reminds us that he will care for us in the future. Praying that God continues his good work in you!

I had no idea you were going through this. Please know I will be praying.

What are your needs? Is there anything we can do? Can I do something on my blog? Would you feel funny having people raise some money?/

I am so sorry. My heart just sank when I read this. Lisa, you have been such a blessing to me and my family this Christmas. We have enjoyed reading your other blog and focusing our hearts on Christ this Christmas.

Praying that God will provide. Jehovah Jireh.
