So Thankful....

for insurance!
It's amazing that this teeny, tiny bottle of Gabriella's medicine costs almost $500.00 a pop! She goes thru at least 2 of these bottles a month, sometimes more. Although we rant about the cost of insurance, in this instance it is a HUGE help.

A Walk To Remember...

Just a glance into the craziness of my life....

Last night my mom called to see if we wanted to go for a walk over to the State Park. Of course the kids are all go for anything that involves a park so we eat and go thru our going away routine. This involves shoes and each child going potty. Do not even think about getting in the truck unless you have gone or tried to go potty first! So when everyone is loaded up we pick up grammy and head to the park. Immediately upon parking Kyalynn starts having a meltdown because she realizes we are actually here to go for a walk and not to play on the playset. Oh my! (Insert loud wailing and screaming here.) As we begin our walk (that we've taken many, many times) Gabriella decides she is petrified of EVERYTHING! Kyalynn has now ceased her screaming and so Gab must think it's too quiet so she begins to fill the silence with her screaming and yelling. Nolan is on my hip, Gabriella is holding my hand and my mom has the other 2 as we cross a…

So Proud of our Girl....

Check out her outfit! Although it clashes wildly, it's beautiful to us. Know why? Because she actually picked it out and dressed herself!! Woo-Hoo!! So that is her first outfit she put on all by herself! Perseverance....that's what she has and we couldn't be more proud. Great job Kyalynn!!!

Disney on Ice...

Saturday we were so blessed by Sean's parents (the grands!) for all of us (except for the 2 oldest who weren't interested in seeing Disney, go figure! LOL!) to attend Disney on Ice. It was a surprise for the littles and we weren't sure how Kyalynn would do but they all did great! Even Nolan who sat on my lap content the whole time. He is such a gem! :)
The show was excellent! I loved seeing Connor's face when he saw Buzz Lightyear and the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. Kyalynn was so excited she kept clapping her hands and feet together for the Lion King part and when Mulan was skating she kept telling me she wanted to go down there (to the ice) and so I told her she could stand up and dance at her seat. I don't know, maybe God gave me a glimpse of her future?! Maybe she will dance or skate. No matter what His plans for her, they will be good, He promises. (Jeremiah 29:11) Gabriella was harder to read as she sat completely still and emotionless the whole time. As…

Nolan Contemplating Potatoes...

Hmmm, let's see....is this one the sweet potatoe or is it a regular one?
Hmmm....I don't know. Which is it?! LOL!

Biscuits....

We made biscuits and their favorite part is kneading the dough. Even Kyalynn participated which was amazing! She hates playdough and such because of the texture but when her dough was all she made a pile of flour and pretended to knead it. And, she has been starting to get the playdough out more and she doesn't neccessarily create with it but instead, puts it in her bowls from her kitchen set and pretends to cook and eat it. Honestly, I think she really is eating it at times too because our playdough stash is slowly getting smaller. LOL! It's homemade, but YUCK! Oh and that's me...multi-tasking. :)

The finished product....we gave them 8 thumbs up! Even Nolan enjoyed them! LOL!

Four...

Today Miss Gabriella turns 4 years old! She has been counting down to her birthday for quite some time. Every time we celebrate a birthday she asks "when is Gab's birthday?" So...FINALLY we can say Happy Birthday Gabriella!

In honor of turning 4 I want to tell you four of her favorite things:
1. Chocolate
2. Fish Sticks
3. Chicken
4. Zachary (her big brother!)

4 of her favorite things to say:
1. NO!
2. Because I don't want to...
3. I want to watch you mommy...
4. I love you.

And 4 things I love about this girl:
1. She's brave.
2. She's a survivor.
3. She don't take no bull, from anyone! LOL! We don't call her Ms. Attitude for nothing! :)
4. Her heart

She loves to wear dresses, be a mommy to her baby dolls, and just hover around me. God has big plans for you, my sweet girl! Don't ever forget just how much He loves you and remember, we love you higher than the mountains, deeper than the oceans, more than you will ever know!

Happy 4th Birthday!!!

Just Beautiful....

Kyalynn has this special ability to touch people. Today in church there was a woman who was so taken by Kyalynn. She danced with her during praise and worship and then held her during the sermon. Kyalynn isn't really a cuddler but she allowed this woman to cuddle her and she even told this woman she loved her. I'll admit I am a bit paranoid about strangers especially with Kyalynn because of her special needs and inability to really communicate to us if someone hurt her, today though, I felt like God was loving this lonely woman thru Kyalynn. She said several times how this was her best Easter, one she would never forget and just kept thanking Sean and I for allowing her to hold Kyalynn. She also said how proud she was of us for adopting, that I was an angel (HA!), and that she could tell how much we love Kyalynn because of how much she loves others. Today, Kyalynn was the hands and feet of Jesus to a lonely woman and we couldn't be more proud of this girl. She is beautif…

Introducing The Newest Member Of Our Family....

Marshmallow.

Friday Zack surprised all of us by bringing home a bunny for the little ones. They all gathered around the box as he opened it and they were so excited! I told Sean we should buy his brother and name him Chocolate so Marshmallow won't be lonely but Sean, not an animal lover, whole heartedly disagreed. LOL! We also gathered frog eggs from the local pond and we are hatching them on the front porch. Ooooh....Spring is such a great time of year for learning science. :)

Yum....

It's Official....

Nolan is walking. This weekend he kept taking 4-5 steps and today he has spent most of his time walking to get where he wants. He thinks he is big man on campus around here, with all the cheers, shouts, and clapping he is getting when he walks from place to place..... Too cute!! When I was cooking dinner Connor started yelling for me and I ran in and he just was excited because Nolan had walked from the couch to the TV without falling once. The little's have been his biggest cheerleaders and his motivation... he can't wait to keep up with them at the park. LOL!

Random Pics....

Pictures from the last month....

Kyalynn actually smiling on film! Folks, not an easy thing to capture, trust me. :)

Donut Day....

10 Months....

Nolan Elijah is 10 months old today! Oh my, what a terrific joy and blessing he continues to be! This little man has been taking small steps (4-5) on his own for the last couple of days and has been climbing for awhile. He loves the steps and climbs up onto the fireplace mantle and couch all by himself. He loves to "couch-climb" up the back and look out the windows. He has 4 teeth with another poking thru on the bottom. He prefers to eat on his own and pretty much loves anything. :) He still isn't big on juices and mostly drinks water in his sippy cup. He is such a content and happy baby which is a HUGE answer to the prayers I was praying as we were preparing to adopt again. Thank you Lord!! He mimics us and will do what the other kids are doing with their toys. His happiest times are when he is in the throes of our family chaos. When the kids are outside playing he isn't quite himself but as soon as their noise and chaos comes back into the house he gets all excited…

Our Oldest....

Zachary ~ age 17

Finally....

A child that thinks doing dishes is fun!

When I open the dishwasher little man kicks it into "turbo" crawl so he can "help". LOL!

Have I mentioned how much I love this boy?! :)

Good News!....

We just returned from Gabriella's appointment with the Kidney Specialist and now we can finally breathe again!! She has a kidney disease called Nephrocalcinosis(sp?). In her case, this disease is caused by her other disease, really the medication she is on to regulate her levels. At this point she will just be monitored with ultrasounds and urinalysis unless things would change. It seems that she has a higher prevalancy towards kidney stones because of the above and so we will be watching her for signs of that. But, honestly, Sean and I were so relieved to hear that this isn't something fatal or that she would need more medications, etc. The Dr. did say this disease can have the potential to worsen and cause disease to the kidneys, which of course, can take things on a downhill slide fast but she feels as long as we monitor her she won't go in that direction. So, we are rejoicing today and thank you all for your prayers for our sweet girl. We so appreciate it!!
