Ryan...

Have I ever mentioned that life with Ryan is NEVER dull?! Actually, I could say that about each of my kids! LOL! Anyways, Ryan entered some of his photos into a local art exhibit that runs from Saturday through this next week. They had a fancy reception today and we were brave and took the littles. Imagine, over 230 beautiful entries of oil, pencil, watercolors, sculptures, photography, and mixed media displayed on these standing racks. It all started off well. We oohed and aahed and oohed some more but then Ms. Kyalynn decided she had had enough! She began saying (VERY LOUDLY) "you have to pee?!" This is our cue that she is agitated and we should begin to exit....quickly. But no.....we were so engrossed in these gorgeous entries we ignored her. We were almost finished when we came across this very weird entry that was made with a clown puppet and it was just....odd. Well, Kyalynn must not of liked it either because she pushed on the standing racks and scared the heebee-jeeb…

Our First Success....

Zachary Robert ~ Homeschool Graduate ~ Class of 2009
He graduated at the top of his class! :) Whew! One down and 5 more to go........LOL!

Testosterone...

Oh my! For some odd reason these 3 love to wrestle and carry on in the kitchen, not the living room where there is bunches more space, nope, in the kitchen! And it's usually when I'm in the middle of cooking no less. LOL! I'm so glad they have the relationship they do and I'm very thankful that no body parts or kitchen counters, tables or chairs have been broken yet! :)

And as you can see even "little" Ryan (who is now taller than his mom, big brother, and dad!) can hold his own. LOL!

Watching...

What are the little's watching so intently thru the railing? Their big brother entertaining them by doing wheelies on his four-wheeler.
They kept yelling "do it again, Zack, do it again!" and so he did. LOL! Nothing like a cheering audience to get you pumped up!

The Greatest Show on Earth...

What is that big smile for? Well, we were so blessed by grandma and grandpa to go to the circus on Sunday. This has been one of Connor's dreams for a long time. We had planned to go to a local circus last year but someone (I won't mention any names!) was not on his best behavior and we decided that the circus wasn't a good punishment. LOL! So....when my in laws offered for us to go I'll admit I was SO excited! LOL! I've never been to the real circus only some very small local ones so the chance to go to the real deal was wonderful! I did make the mistake of telling the kids early Tuesday morning and Kyalynn spent all week saying "Circus?!" everytime we got into the truck. She was so, so excited and when I went to get her up Sunday morning she was already dressed and ready to go. LOL! The circus was such a good motivator for Connor too as he has some behaviors that we have tried everything to curtail and nothing has worked. Well, that is until he learned…

A Bit Late...

A run down of my Mother's Day since I'm just getting around to posting about it. :) We always do a picnic for my birthday and mother's day and really, anytime I can. LOL! So, when we got home from church Sean had a picnic lunch ready to go. We went to a local park that had a play area for the kids and it was bustling with a women's softball game, a men's baseball game and a fire hall dinner! For some reason, every time we do a picnic it is windy and this year was no exception. The plates of food blew this way and that and poor Zack, sitting at the end of the table had quite a bit of food blown onto him. :) The only thing I asked for was that my 2 big boys spend the day with me and they did. :) The food was delicious, the fellowship wonderful, and the memory made. This is the whole clan plus Ryan's best friend, Hannah. Isn't she lovely?!

You've Come A Long Way Baby...

Every time we go to the park Kyalynn sits at the top of this slide but refuses to go down. We've tried everything to get her to go down by herself but she knows what she wants to do, and what she doesn't want to do and going down is on her list of doesn't want to's. LOL! She has no problem going down on my lap or pushing her brother or sister down the slide and laughing hysterically but, nope! she's not going down on her own steam. LOL!

She has only gone down this slide all by herself one other time and that was after a small boy (about 2 years old) went down first and she just up and went down. We shouted and cheered and high fived her but alas, that was the ONLY time she did it. So, here we are at the park and there she is at the top of the slide and I'm telling her to come down, etc. and she surprised the spit out of me by ACTUALLY doing it! Then she proceeded to go down that slide and the other big one too over and over again. WOO HOO Kyalynn!! Then she als…

It's That Time Again...

Our second son, Ryan will soon be old enough to drive. Trust me, he reminds us of this daily! LOL! So he has been dreaming of his first vehicle for awhile. At first, the car of his dreams revolved around speed. You know, Camaro's, Firebirds, Mustangs, etc. He would tell us his first car was going to be one of the above and we would just smile and know that reality would kick in eventually. LOL! Then he realized how much these cars would cost and started thinking he would "settle for" something with less speed but more pizazz. The cool looking cars. Again, we just smiled. Reality, I'm glad to say, did kick in when he realized how much he had saved versus how much these vehicles costed. That's when he really started researching brands and types of vehicles. He can tell you about the various engines, gas mileage, etc. Too much information for my brain. LOL! He searched auto papers, Craigslist, and the internet for a used vehicle in his budget. And, I'm happy to …

First Paychecks!

So I just printed out our first paychecks for the new business! It's exciting and scary all at the same time. LOL! Some how I was wrangled into the secretary/bookkeeper/go-to girl position. Not sure how that's all going to fly but I'll give it my best shot. LOL! I have the skills it's the time I lack. :)

Things are rolling on the job site and a house is coming together but not without excitement. On the third day (THE THIRD DAY!!) one employee nail-gunned his hand to the subfloor and had to make a trip to the local ER! He's fine (thank God!) but I could hear those Workmen's Comp. figures adding up. LOL!

The weather has been fairly decent and the guys are getting very nice tans! :) Sean is kept extra-busy maintaining things at the job site while also getting out other quotes and preparing estimates for future jobs. But yet, he still always finds time to do the really important things with us like dinner and bedtime routines. Kyalynn will yell unceasingly for h…

So Squeezable....

Psalm 147:1

Praise the Lord! How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise Him!

Don't Get Too Comfortable...

That's my lesson for today.

Ever since Kyalynn came home she has had issues with food. Mostly with being able to chew! We've had too many times of her choking on her food and seriously I am hyper paranoid about her and food. There have been 2 times that stand out in my memory where I thought for sure we weren't going to get the food dislodged and lose our little girl. Whew! So, ALL of her food is cut up into tiny bitesize pieces and there are still certain foods she can't have because she will swallow them whole instead of chewing them. Not a good thing! LOL! Anyways, she has been doing so much better lately. In fact, we have reduced our alert status to low. Before, everytime she ate meals or snacks we were ALWAYS on HIGH alert. Reminding her to chew, get a drink, etc. It's funny, because now when she coughs she says "oh, are you alright?" to herself. She also reminds herself by saying "chew it up" alot. :) One time a guy that worked with Sean wa…

Life's Pathway

At times, life's path seems filled with things that make the going rough, And we wish there were a smoother road, for we feel we've had enough... But, if we pause a moment and remember Who's in charge, The hills that loom ahead of us no longer seem so large, And every rock before us, when we know we're not alone, Becomes, not just a stumbling block, but one more stepping stone. ~Emily Matthews~

Whether....

Whether your baby is still in the womb or will soon be retiring, Whether your children number 1 or 100, Whether you are a single mom, working mom, or stay at home mom, Whether you are sweet as syrup or bark like an Army General, Whether you are a million-aire, thousand-aire or just a dollar-aire, Whether your children wear the latest fashions or you just struggle to put clothes on their backs, Whether you sleep on satin sheets or on a dirt floor, Whether your baby grew in your belly or grew in your heart, Whether your days are seamless or seemingly endless, Whether your meals include the 4 food groups or only gruel, Whether you are world famous or just a backwoods hillbilly, Whether you wear high heels or go barefoot, Whether you have your child's heart or you spend your days struggling to gain it, Whether your child is perfect by this world's standards or only perfect in God's eyes, Whether your child talks your ear off or can't speak at all, Whether your child was dreamed of and pl…

11 Months...

Our little Nolan is 11 months old today. Where has time gone?! He is such a sweet gift from God and has eyes that light up a room. Nolan's latest achievement is using his toys to bang his brothers and sisters on their heads. LOL! We are working on redirecting this new skill. :)
He now has 8 teeth, loves to be outside, loves to play chase with daddy, and loves to pet our puppy dog, Mordecai. He climbs on everything and last week fell off the piano bench and did a number on his nose and lips. Poor little guy.
He healed pretty quick and it surely didn't stop him from continuing to climb up and on everything and anything he can find. He loves to open the cupboards and throw the can goods out or dig out all my cookie sheets and then stand on them. One of his favorite toys right now is Connor's train. He just sits and watches it chug across the rug and then he chases it down and does it all over again. He also loves to put toys in his mouth (of course! LOL!) but the problem is wh…

Our Newest Adventure....

Yep, we are always up for an adventure. We are INSANE! LOL! It is official that Sean is now the proud owner of his own business! This has been our dream since before we married 20+ years ago. We've taken some bunny trails (adopting 4 times! LOL!) but here we are. Whew!

Praying God is all over this and that He will show us abundant favor and blessing as we step forth.

Have I mentioned how intensely proud I am of this man?! He is amazing! Here's to the many quality homes to be built by Rock Solid Contracting!!

Bryan's Dream...

Awhile ago I asked for prayer for Bryan Newell. He was the man that was shot in the neck while protecting his girlfriend from robbers. He is currently paralyzed from the chest down but he has a dream...to walk again! He goes to therapy 3 times a week but it hasn't been enough. His 4 year old son asks him often "daddy when will you walk again?" God has brought so much good out of this tragedy already. Bryan has turned his heart to God and we rejoice in that but I believe there is more rejoicing to come. You see, Bryan has the incredible opportunity to have an operation done that has had much success with cases just like his. Others who are now walking! This Doctor has decided to waive his fees and donate his time to do this operation on Bryan. The only costs will be the other things, the things that add up quickly, like hospital fees, supplies, anesthesia, etc. The cost is enormous....$40,000.00! I know, it sat me back on my heels too! However, God is bigger than that amo…
