Colors of Fall......

Would you....

Please pray for my cousin. I just found out today that a test on one of her moles came back positive for melanoma. Her appointment with the specialist is not until October 12th and that is an incredibly long time to wait and worry.

I consider Charissa the sister I never had and we've made lots of memories together thru the years. My heart is aching for her as she waits and wonders. Please lift her, her husband and her 3 children up in prayer for total healing and peace that passeth understanding.

Thank you friends!!

Kisses...

21 Years...

Then
Sean's Prom ~ Circa 1987

Now ~ April 2010
Back in the day everyone told us we would never make it, that our marriage would never last. After all, here we were two young'uns still wet behind the ears, what did we know about love?
I had just graduated high school and was a mere 17 years old! Sean, wasn't much older at 20. Why the hurry? Why not wait a few years before getting hitched? Why wait?! I knew this was the only man for me and we couldn't wait to start life together. We began married life in a old, beat up farmhouse that Sean had purchased a year before. It wasn't the Ritz but there was love there and that was enough. Money was extremely tight and we didn't do a whole lot of extra stuff.  Instead we'd curl up together (to try and stay warm!) and just talk and talk and talk. That was the beginnings of a firm foundation of love and that was enough. As our children were born we made ample time to just have fun together. We'd play baseball, build te…

The Face of God....

What I see when I look into the face of God...
Breathtakingly Beautiful!

Miracle!
Perfectly Created!

Beloved Treasure!

A True Beauty...

This past weekend I attended our annual Women of Faith conference with my aunts, cousins, mom, mother-in-love and friends. It was AWESOME like always! God met me there and spoke His love and His truth over me again.

It was amazing on so many levels from the speakers to the dramas but for me one of the highlights of the weekend was meeting Mandisa! As I mentioned before my sweet Kyalynn loves Mandisa's songs and belts them out at the top of her voice, word for word. I decided I wanted to stand in line and tell her about Kyalynn and get her picture too. As she signed her autograph I told her about my precious treasure and she said she was so glad I shared it with her. Then we hugged and had our picture taken. As I read what she wrote tears welled up in my eyes. I'm sure she wrote the same thing for everyone but it was so real for our daughter. You see, we call our little Kyalynn, our beauty and Mandisa signed.....To Kyalynn, a true beauty! How perfect! Kyalynn is definitely, wit…

Freedom...

That's Ryan's new theme song. LOL! You see, my boy passed his test and received his driver's license this past Saturday!
Here he is heading off on his first solo trip. It was pouring rain and he thinks I'm a nut ball (LOL!) but I anointed his car with oil and prayed over it before I allowed him to leave. Then I had to take pictures and of course I cried like a baby as he drove off. :) I mean, c'mon people, cut me a break, once upon a time he was my baby...sigh...where does time go?!  His girlfriend asked why he had a cross on his hood and he told her what I did and how I cried and she thought it was so sweet. LOL!

And he's off.....a boy, his car and the open road. Nothing better! Well, in Ryan's case he'd say...a boy, his car  with the awesome stereo system and really loud music, and the open road...nothing better! LOL!
Mommas, I'm telling you...don't blink!  Just don't do it 'cuz if you do the next thing you'll see is the taillights of…

A New Heart...

What I'm claiming for Connor~ for the sake of the Kingdom!! God is able!

"'For here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to take you out of these countries, gather you from all over, and bring you back to your own land. I'll pour pure water over you and scrub you clean. I'll give you a new heart, put a new spirit in you. I'll remove the stone heart from your body and replace it with a heart that's God-willed, not self-willed. I'll put my Spirit in you and make it possible for you to do what I tell you and live by my commands. You'll once again live in the land I gave your ancestors. You'll be my people! I'll be your God!
Ezekiel 36:25-28 (The Message) Although we were greatly encouraged by Connor's breakthrough we also knew that kids with a past of trauma take 1 step forward and 5 steps back. So we prepared ourselves. However, I will admit that there was this part of me that thought just maybe that breakthrough was the pivotal mo…

I have to shout it from the mountaintops....

This morning started like every other morning....the girls singing loudly from their room, Nolan snug in his bed snoring away, Samuel in bed beside me smiling up at me with the biggest grin and Connor making wrong choices.
 *Sigh*
However, this morning will forever be etched in my brain.  This morning something happened that I didn't believe was possible.  This morning God showed up and showed off through... my son.
Now most of you won't understand the significance of today because you (thankfully) haven't had to journey the path we have been chosen to walk, but for those of you who knows what it's like to parent these hurt children may this inspire and encourage you.
If you have been following along for any length of time you will know that our journey with Connor has been hard!  Connor has been home with us 5 years now and honestly, we weren't seeing much growth in regards to his difficult behaviors. There were hope-filled days but mostly it was discouraging, depressing …

Well, can't say we've had this before...

So....let me preface this by saying that my Koreans all put things in their mouths, from sticks to old food found in the car. Ewww! I know, I know. Anyhow, we have told them umpteen times not to put anything in their mouths except food (not old, dried up stuff!) and drink. But yet they still do it.....sigh....

Well tonight Kyalynn (my nature loving girl) had found a caterpillar and was playing happily with it. She carried it around singing to it and showing it to everyone. After a bit I noticed she had her hand near her mouth and so I reminded her not to put the caterpillar near her mouth. I mean I really didn't think she would put it in her mouth. Oh my! Not too long later Sean calls me upstairs to look at Kyalynn. Her lip was swollen, she had welts all over her lips, chin, cheeks, neck, and both arms! She kept saying "oh, are you ok? Say a prayer".  We had thought that the caterpillar just stung her on her face but then she kept saying she had a boo-boo in her mouth. H…

His Promises...

The Lord is faithful to all His promises  and loving toward all He has made.  Psalm 145:13b (NIV)
At the beginning of this year God spoke 2 promises to my heart. As of today, they have both been fulfilled. What were these promises? So glad you asked. LOL!
Promise #1: I would write a book
Promise #2: We would adopt again
On February 26, 2010, I received a contract in the mail for my book proposal. On March 15th (4 days before Samuel's birth!) we signed and submitted the contract.
On April 8th, 2010, we held our newest treasure, Samuel Tobias in our arms. His adoption was finalized one month later!!
And today I've finally finished my manuscript and submitted it to my publisher.
If you would have told me last year at this time that we would adopt another child and that I would write a book I would have thought you completely mad. LOL! So glad that with God ALL things are possible!!
I am so excited to see what God has planned next!!
As I've stated countless times.....
