Too Quiet...Here's a Catch-up....

Although this blog has been quiet it has been anything but quiet at our house. LOL! In fact, as I type I have 2 small boys bouncing a ball together in the kitchen and laughing hysterically all the while there's me saying "Shhhh, it's quiet time". HA! They don't care they are all boy!!

We've had the wonderful joy of skyping with our son, Ryan, in Korea, 2 weekends in a row!! Woo Hoo!! That is certainly one of those times that make me so thankful for technology. Ryan really loves Korea - the people, the culture, the food! He's even picked up the Hangul language quite well and is the resident "speaker" to taxi drivers and at restaurants. We hope to have him home for a visit sometime in October. It will be so good to hug my boy!!

I've been enjoying helping with the special needs ministry thru our church. They have a therapeutic riding ministry and I've been so blessed to meet, encourage and spend time with these precious treasures each week! I…

Where Are You?!

Many years ago a man had heart surgery and during recovery told how he had an unforgettable dream.   In utter despair, he cried out to god in anguish, "God, where are you?"  In answer to his question, a gigantic figure appeared.  The figure was holding someone.  The man moved closer to see who.  As he did, he recognized that the tiny figure in the lap of this gigantic figure  was himself being held by God.  The man then heard a voice: Son, it's not where I am that matters. It's where you are.
We are in the embrace of God. He always has a hold on us.  So many things in this life will threaten to undo us,  but when everything seems to be crashing around you,  remember that you, too, are in God's embrace.

We love Mister Ed....

Mister Ed's is a local candy and fudge shop that loves to bless the community through Easter Egg Hunts, Petting Zoo's and a free museum that boasts an amazing collection of elephants from all over the world! This past weekend he hosted a petting zoo and the kids were so excited to visit. Even though he has famous candy and fudge I believe the secret of his success is his love of people. Thanks Mister Ed!!

One more day...

One more day and our house will have another bouncing boy running around in it! We are so excited to meet Juan. He is travelling the whole way from New York City to stay with us for 7 days. He is part of the Fresh Air Fund that matches inner city kids to host families so they can experience life in the country. We have big plans to show him our world and can't wait to see his face when he sees fireflies for the first time or hears the woodpecker pounding his head on our trees. LOL! I'm sure it will open a whole new world for him and for us as we experience life through a new set of eyes.
